Improve Your Vision, Improve Your Life

If you have an eye condition or eye disease, there is a good chance that you rely on contact lenses or eyeglasses to see clearly. But what if we told you that you don’t have to rely on eyewear for clear and comfortable vision?

Laser eye surgery is a type of refractive surgery that can permanently improve your vision and lower your dependence on eyewear. At Family Vision Center, we work with surgeons through every step of the process so you can experience better vision.

All you need to do is book a consultation and we’ll handle the rest!

Is Laser Eye Surgery Right for You?

Laser eye surgery can be performed to help correct a variety of eye conditions, including:

  • Myopia
  • Hyperopia
  • Astigmatism

However, not all patients with these vision issues may be a candidate for laser eye surgery. We offer consultations to help you decide if a laser eye surgery procedure could benefit you.

During your consultation, we’ll perform an in-depth and comprehensive eye exam to assess your eye health and vision needs. If laser eye surgery is right for you, we can help you understand every step of the procedure and get you set up with an appointment.

Types of Laser Eye Surgery

We offer consultations for two types of laser eye surgery: Lasik (laser-assisted in situ keratomileuses) and PRK (photorefractive keratectomy).

LASIK

LASIK is the most commonly performed laser eye surgery to correct refractive errors by changing the shape of your cornea, helping refract light more clearly on the retina.

The LASIK procedure involves two steps. First, your ophthalmologist will create a small flap in your cornea. Then, they will reshape the cornea by removing tissue using an excimer laser. Once this is done, they will replace the flap to heal.

PRK is another type of laser eye surgery very similar to LASIK. For patients who have thin corneas, PRK is a great option.

Instead of creating a flap like in LASIK, your ophthalmologist will completely remove the entire outer layer of your cornea to be able to reshape your cornea.
